Firstboard.io Commits to Placing Operating Expertise at the Heart of Corporate Governance: 100 boards. 100 women CXOs. One mission: to reshape the future of leadership, one board seat at a time
DAVOS, SWITZERLAND — Jan. 27, 2026 — Firstboard.io concluded their participation at the World Economic Forum 2026, where AI governance, cybersecurity, and board-level technical expertise dominated the conversation.
“The boardrooms of the future will be unrecognizable from today—and we’re building them now,” said Rita Scroggin, founder and CEO of Firstboard.io, following the organization’s participation at the this year's World Economic Forum.
“What we heard at Davos confirmed what we’ve been building toward since 2020: A new era of board leadership is dawning. The world is transforming—driven by technological breakthroughs, shifting expectations and challenges that demand fresh thinking. This moment calls for boardrooms that reflect the complexity and possibility of our times.”
At Davos, under the World Economic Forum’s theme “A Spirit of Dialogue,” global leaders confronted a fundamental question: Who should govern the AI revolution? The answer that emerged was clear—the people who built it.
“The rules of global business are being rewritten in real time. Major geopolitical shifts are redrawing trade flows and alliances, while AI is fundamentally transforming how organizations operate and compete,” Scroggin added. “For boards, this is a defining moment. To every CEO, founder and investor navigating this landscape—your board composition will determine whether you lead or follow.”
Building Tomorrow’s Boardrooms Today
Firstboard.io connects companies with women technology CXOs from the world’s most innovative companies—leaders who bring the operating DNA needed to govern AI systems, cybersecurity infrastructure and global platforms in real time.
“When a board debates AI ethics, data sovereignty or algorithmic bias, they need voices from people who’ve shipped code at 3 a.m., navigated ransomware attacks and made split-second decisions affecting millions of users,” said Subha Tatavarti, former chief technology officer of Wipro and Firstboard.io CXO chair. “Those aren’t abstract concepts to our members—they’re any other day of the week.”
The collective’s mission extends beyond representation. It’s about fundamentally reimagining what governance looks like when the builders become the governors.
The Path Forward: 100 Boards 100 Woman CXOs
“Our goal is audacious but achievable: connect 100 boards with 100 women CXOs from the world’s most innovative technology companies,” Scroggin concluded. “Because the boardrooms navigating AI, cybersecurity and digital disruption need voices who’ve built the future firsthand.”
Firstboard.io will build on this momentum through its New York Innovation Summit in March, the HumanX AI conference in San Francisco in April, CXO forums, its annual Silicon Valley Summit later in the year, and continued expansion of its technology councils.
Each initiative advances a singular vision: ensuring that every board has the expertise to govern effectively in an era where technology shapes every company.
